Description:

N BROWN – WHO WE ARE AND WHY WORK FOR US?

At N Brown, we’re committed to building a diverse workforce and creating an inclusive environment that values equality for all. Our vision is that by ‘championing inclusion, we’ll become the most loved and trusted fashion retailer’. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging are, therefore, at the heart of our culture.
We’re a forward-thinking digital retailer with a financial services proposition to be proud of. We’re customer-obsessed, serving them through three core brands: JD Williams, Simply Be, and Jacamo. We’re experienced, with over 160 years of trading under our belt. We’re inclusive, as we believe in fashion without boundaries; and we’re sustainable, striving to make as little impact on the planet as possible.
In May 2024 we were delighted to be named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024. We work hard to create a happy and inclusive culture for everyone and we’re so proud to have made this list - as voted for by our very own colleagues!

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Payment Product Owner to join our Financial Services Domain. This is a key role in the business which provides ownership of our customer payment products, processes and strategy, spanning checkout payments and credit facility repayments. The role is ideal for somebody who has worked with ecommerce payments and is looking to step up into a managerial role.
Working alongside a team of commercial analysts, product and marketing experts, you would report to the Head of Financial Services Customer Strategy who is responsible for leading the strategy behind our payment and credit options. In the role you would also work closely with the wider organisation, e.g. teams looking after Financial Crime, Risk and Compliance, Digital Technology and Finance.
A key pillar of our Group Strategy is the creation of a new Financial Services platform, which presents significant growth opportunities for the business. In this role you would be responsible for setting out payments requirements for the new platform.

What will you do as a Payment Product Owner at N Brown?

  • Be the subject matter expert for payment regulation and product across the business.
  • Understand scheme rules and ensure the business remains compliant.
  • Lead the monthly payments forum providing updates on performance, risks and initiatives.
  • Identify and drive commercial payments initiatives to improve the customer experience, drive revenue and reduce costs.
  • Own the relationship with our payments service providers, ensuring we receive the required service at competitive price.
  • Work with Information Security teams and external suppliers to ensure the organisation is PCI compliant.
  • Work with Finance to ensure payments or refunds made can be properly reconciled.
  • Ensure the business minimises customer friction during SCA, whilst retaining protections against financial crime.
  • Maintain payment dispute & complaint processes.
  • Ensure the payments service operates reliably, resolving any issues quickly where they may arise and analysing causes to ensure the risk of repeat is minimised.
