Payment Solution Technology Architect

You’ll have an impact on bringing digital-first banking to our customers by defining the future state architecture vision and strategies for our Global Businesses and Global Functions.
You’ll be developing business, data, software, and integration architecture standards to manage processes, systems, and technology complexity across the HSBC Group. Through dynamic, agile collaboration you’ll work closely with business partners to translate their requirements into integrated solutions that can be deployed globally using consistent service patterns for ease of deployment, support, and enhancement.
The GO&A Architecture function sits within Technology and its mission is to ‘To drive the digitisation of operational activities across the bank through delivering scalable technology and establishing an industry leading business automation framework’.
You’ll work to deliver designs for the technology infrastructure supporting Global Payment Solutions Operations. The primary stakeholders are project teams and other architects. They are accountable for defining technology roadmaps and solution designs for the region, in alignment with the GPS and GO&A strategies, articulating associated architectural risks, issues and technical debt.

In this role you will:

  • Creating solution designs of technology systems which support GPS in line with functional and nonfunctional requirements as well as HSBC’s strategy and standards.
  • Ensuring solution designs deliver the very low appetite for risk in the payment domain, are cost effective and can be maintained throughout their lifecycle, resolving design related issues in a timely manner
  • Ensuring architectural deliverables in governance and control frameworks are completed.
  • Contribute to the architecture team within GO&A and across the wider GPS area
  • Define, actively promote and embed the scope of architecture, including promoting and embedding the benefits, and sharing best practice techniques, standards and tools.
  • Ensure that the highest level of quality for all activities and products is achieved.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience Technical Architect with a programming background
  • Payments Experience for example payment operations
  • Extensive experience in IT within a complex global organisation (preferably in a highly regulated industry such as Financial Services), and the Architecture discipline within it.
  • Ability to provide technical thought leadership in evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements and influence key stakeholders leading to adoption.
  • Have a system engineering background and the ability to compare and contrast different solutions to meet a business requirement – including experience of supporting and designing on-premise, externally hosted and SaaS solutions.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into appropriate Technology solutions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of technology architecture with comprehensive knowledge of underlying engineering techniques for application automation.
