Business Unit: Customer Transformation & Operations
Salary Range: £40,000 -£50,000 per annum DOE + red-hot benefits
Location: Hybrid with occasional travel required to Glasgow or Gosforth hub

The overarching ambition for payments remains – to deliver a superb payments service to Virgin Money customers. Payment Services play a critical role in that pursuit, specifically, ensuring our systems and processes align to UK and International governance standards, internal and external policies, internal risk management standards and have focused strategic direction that benefits customers and colleagues alike.

- Delivery of a new centralised bank wide payments risk and governance process for Virgin Money
- Help to shape the future of the UK payments industry through direct contribution to the National Payments Vision
- Significantly moving the needle on a delivering the comprehensive best in class governance through Virgin Money’s payment process and infrastructure, applications, and customer/colleague journeys.
What you’ll be doing
- Undertake the preparation of dashboards and MI on Payments risk management and performance for board and senior management level reporting.
- Manage content sources, data flows and reporting deadlines for all required reporting, ensuring inputs are submitted on a timely basis.
- Review and challenge commentary provided to ensure quality of papers.
- Ensure an efficient flow of information across the organisation.
- Work Collaboratively with First and Second Lines of Defence within the Bank to drive Risk Management compliance. Work with risk partners and key stakeholders to monitor the position of the bank against agreed key risk and key performance indicators.
- Ensure accurate minutes and actions from payments governance forums are produced and distributed on a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with the Bank’s policies to comply with regulatory standards.
- Maintain and enhance the Payments team (and wider bank Payments risk profile), ensure the risk environment/profile is up-to-date and fit for purpose. Manage and actively track Issues, Actions and other activities relating to the risk profile.
- Act as secretariat for governance forums, including pack creation, membership/attendees, actions, minutes and first point of contact for any questions on such forums.
- Take an active role in the findings of any Internal Audit or other Assurance Reviews being conducted on Payments- leading any actions through to completion. This includes review and challenge of findings and requires a level of understanding of the processes within the department to provide relevant responses.
- Manage internal data request from internal and external sources ensuring they are accurate and fit for purpose.
We need you to have
- Proven track record of successfully managing and coordinating committees or forums.
- Practical experience of prioritising workload and working to tight deadlines.
- Experience of producing reports to engage and influence senior management.
- Knowledge and understanding of Payment risk and industry trends.
- Excellent presentation skills and stakeholder management experience.
- Analytical skills with experience creating and maintaining MI.
- A ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work both in a team and on your own.
