Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant and Excel Specialist to join their Finance team. This role is crucial in advancing their mission by ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining financial records, and supporting financial planning. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Excel, enabling them to streamline processes and provide detailed financial insights.

KEY EXCEL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP: Retrieve data from specific rows or columns to facilitate payroll reconciliation and audit functions.
  • Pivot Tables: Summarize and analyze payroll data, budget reports, and financial information efficiently.
  • Advanced Formulas: Utilize complex formulas such as IF, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, and INDEX/MATCH to automate and streamline calculations.
  • Data Validation: Ensure data accuracy by applying rules and constraints to cell inputs.
  • Conditional Formatting: Highlight payroll discrepancies, trends, and other key data points.
  • Macros and VBA: Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency in payroll processing and financial reporting.
  • Data Analysis Tools: Use tools like Goal Seek and Solver for financial forecasting and budget analysis.
  • Power Query: Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources for accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Charting and Graphs: Create visual representations of payroll trends, financial reports, and other relevant metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Proven expertise in corporate accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in general ledger accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including the key functions mentioned above).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll accurately and on time using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other accounting standards.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and ensure timely submissions.
  • Develop and enforce internal financial controls.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support financial decision-making.
