Job Title: Payroll Accountant
Job Responsibilities:
- Processing Payroll: Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, including salary, wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Payroll System Management: Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Compliance: Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as company policies.
- Tax Calculations: Calculate and process federal, state, and local tax withholdings, including Social Security, Medicare, and other deductions.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll reports, including tax filings, year-end reports, and other regulatory documentation.
- Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits, including deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
- Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits.
- Audits and Reconciliations: Perform regular audits and reconciliations of payroll records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee payroll data for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure that employee information is up-to-date and that payroll runs smoothly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, or similar systems).
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information.
