Description:
We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in the construction and contracting industry in NOVI, Michigan. The role involves managing and processing payroll, utilizing various accounting software systems, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This role is pivotal in maintaining efficient operations within our team.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate processing of multi-state payroll including union and non-union employees
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing and management
- Conduct payroll functions including processing, auditing, and reporting
- Manage benefit functions, ensuring all employee benefits are correctly administered
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in a timely and accurate manner
- Resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees, ensuring high levels of customer service
- Compliance with payroll laws and regulations to mitigate risks
- Collaborate with the HR team and other departments for payroll-related matters
- Use Ceridian and other accounting software systems for efficient payroll administration
- Manage payroll for under 100 employees, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role within the construction or contractor industry.
- Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now and ADP - Payroll for payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of payroll law and ability to adhere to all relevant regulations.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and payroll for under 100 employees, including knowledge of specific state laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with payroll functions for union employees.
- Proven experience in benefits functions including administration and coordination.
- Ability to process payroll accurately and within set deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with employees and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
