Description:

We are on the lookout for a Payroll Administrator to join our growing client’s team in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities related to payroll processing and customer service. This includes ensuring the accuracy of payroll operations, maintaining employee records, and administering company benefits plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the accuracy of both bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls
  • Administering all company benefits plans and employee programs in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Maintaining and reviewing employee information in ADP
  • Reviewing ADP input and payroll reports bi-weekly to verify correct posting of hours worked and adjust payroll, as necessary
  • Collaborating with other departments to provide data for various reports
  • Balancing all payroll and benefits accounts at month-end
  • Reconciling the payroll clearing general ledger account monthly
  • Transmitting bi-weekly payroll data to the ADP Service Center and reviewing resulting documentation
  • Assisting with verification of employment requests
  • Assisting with data entry of federal and state tax levy notices
  • Assisting with data entry for status change forms.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role with 400+ FTEs
  • Proficient in ADP software is ideal
  • Familiarity with payroll garnishments.
  • Strong understanding and experience in payroll processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification would be an advantage.
