Description:

Surerus is looking to hire a Payroll Administrator in our Fort St John office. You’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll. Working in a team environment, the administrator will be responsible for weekly payroll for project and permanent employees in the organization.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications/Experience

  • Business Administration diploma or equivalent payroll or business courses are desired
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Experience with Explorer Eclipse software is considered an asset

Skills & Knowledge

  • Understanding of relevant legislation including, but not limited to, BC & AB Employment Standards, CRA guidelines, WCB and PIPEDA
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proficiency with MS Office (strong in Excel), payroll software, and other systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail oriented, analytical, organized and strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated, results driven, able to work well under time constraints and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as a strong desire to learn and ability to work well within a team

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate processing of high-volume payroll on a weekly basis across multiple provinces
  • Daily upload of project and equipment time
  • Accurate processing of new employees in the payroll system
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain reconciliations for payroll related accounts
  • Submit government remittances including Receiver General and garnishees
  • Process terminations and issue Record of Employment as required
  • Assist with processing and issuing of T4’s
  • Manage all documentation related to payroll records
  • Assist with documentation of process and procedures related to the role
  • Assist with special projects as required
    Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
