Description:
The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our finance team in Muscat. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and providing exceptional service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Responsibilities: - Process and administer payroll for all employees accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations. - Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data, time and attendance records, and pay rates. - Verify and reconcile payroll data before processing, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed. - Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposit statements and ensure timely payment of wages. - Calculate and withhold appropriate taxes and deductions, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. - Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions, providing clear and accurate information. - Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management, including payroll summaries, tax filings, and employee compensation reports. - Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of payroll information and maintain secure electronic and physical payroll records. - Collaborate with HR to ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding of employees, including the timely processing of new hire paperwork and final paychecks. - Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices, implementing necessary adjustments to payroll processes as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. - Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll role, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations. - Familiarity with payroll software and systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively. - Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. - Knowledge of local labor laws and regulations related to payroll and employee benefits. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
