PAYROLL AND ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST - Well-established employer in Suwanee, GA
My client, a very well-established company in Suwanee, is searching for a Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join their team for an immediate, direct-hire opportunity. The Payroll and Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing the payroll function within their organization. This role is essential for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, in compliance with all relevant regulations. The specialist will handle various payroll deductions and support the accounting department while collaborating closely with Human Resources.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the payroll processing and accounting systems to guarantee timely and accurate payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, and taxes.
Manage payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports of payroll transactions, facilitating general ledger entries.
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and best practices.
Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and records to auditors.
Recommend updates and improvements to payroll software and procedures.
Assist with various accounting tasks, including daily sales processing, accounts payable, and general reconciliations.
Extensive knowledge of payroll processes, including preparation, reconciliation, and compliance with payroll taxes.
Experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
Experience with payroll software; familiarity with Paycor is highly preferred.
