Etana provides enriched living supports to individuals with disabilities to live meaningful lives embracing their unique gifts. We are currently hiring a full time Payroll & Benefits Administrator to work out of our main office in Red Deer.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Payroll/Benefits Administrator will be responsible for all areas of payroll and benefits administration for the business unit. As an integral part of the finance department, you will use your considerable payroll and administration skills and experience to verify, and process earnings for approximately 150 full and part time employees bi-weekly. You will also administer the agency benefits program and assist with other functions in the Human Resources and Office Administration departments.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years payroll and benefits administration experience
  • Experience working with Inclusion Payroll Systems a definite advantage
  • Functional understanding of the payroll related areas of the Alberta Employment Standards Act
  • Fully functional in the use of Microsoft Office 365 suite of products
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail

EDUCATION:

  • High School Graduate
  • Canadian Payroll Association certification would be an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees
  • Responsible for all other payroll tasks such as issuing Records of Employment, turnover calculations, filing etc.
  • Prepare all payroll and benefits related reporting as directed by the Director of Finance
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, employment confirmation letters
  • Administration of employee group benefits, including enrollment, changes to coverages, deletions, etc.
  • Work directly with group benefits provider as required
  • Mentor and train Supervisors in the operation of the payroll and time entry system.
  • Create and maintain employee files and records
  • Cover the reception desk as required
  • Assist with other administrative and human resource tasks as required
  • Ensure absolute confidentiality of employee information
