THE COMPANY
B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 970,000 and 1,075,000 ounces in 2025.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field;
- Enrolled in the Payroll Compliance Practitioner program, with at least one completed course;
- Minimum one year of relevant experience in full-cycle payroll processing
- Knowledge of payroll-related legislation, including CRA and ESA requirements;
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately;
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with all levels of internal employees and external professionals and stakeholders with good command of verbal and written English;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); prior experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset;
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time management abilities;
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to different cultures, settings, and time zones;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment but also available to work independently with minimum supervision;
- High ethical standards and integrity, with a strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality;
- Ability to thrive and multitask in a fast paced and dynamic environment managing multiple demands while ensuring accuracy.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation considered a strong asset.
- Prior experience in mining industry considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with payroll processing for various regions, including France, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan;
- Support year-end processes, including preparing T4’s, W2’s, and reconciling to general ledger accounts;
- Reconcile and process monthly benefit plan invoices and other remittances, ensuring employee eligibility lists for benefits are well maintained;
- Coordinate timecard collection, approval, and follow-up with employees to ensure timely submissions;
- Upload ADP timecard reports on a pay period basis and manage timecard calendars;
- Maintain and update employee lists for expatriate pay statements;
- Update B2Gold Master Payroll list as required;
- Generate and distribute pay statements for specific expatriate employee groups;
- Prepare semi-monthly Shareworks Demographic reports for CPP deficiency verification;
- Prepare and send Employee Paid in Vancouver report to appropriate departments;
- Assist with preparing payroll journal entries and ad-hoc reports as needed;
- Provide payroll support to employees and respond to payroll related enquiries from various stakeholders, escalate as required;
- Assist the team with compensation data collection for the international tax assistance project and other projects, as required;
- Perform other payroll-related duties in support of company objectives.
