The West Vancouver Human Resources & Payroll Division is currently seeking a permanent full-time Payroll Associate II to join our highly qualified team. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring payroll and all related processes are accurately processed in compliance with the relevant Collective Agreements, rules, policies, requirements and statutory regulations;
- Maintaining relevant records of payroll processing and preparing a variety of reports and statements, including Records of Employment (ROEs);
- Ability to prioritize, manage time and multitask within the confines of multiple deadlines;
- Reconciliation of general ledgers;
- Benefits administration, including enrolment, termination, payment processing, employee inquiries; and,
- Participating in other duties and special projects as assigned.
The preferred candidate will possess:
- Considerable working knowledge of the preparation, calculation, and processing of payrolls, including benefits and entitlements;
- The ability to prepare a variety of statements, statistics and reports;
- Knowledge of relevant computer systems, methods, and procedures;
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
- Annual T4 issuance experience and knowledge;
- Strong Excel skills; and,
- Experience in a public sector unionized work environment.
The successful candidate will also have:
- post-secondary training in payroll administration and computer technology, and
- considerable related experience in computerized payroll processing or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Exempt – Permanent, Full-Time
Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)
Rate of Pay:
$72,800.00 - $82,100.00 per year (2024 rates)
