Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
Canco is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support key functions for payroll. The right candidate will develop a deep understanding of the day-to-day payroll processes. This role involves coordinating information for existing and new employees, assisting in weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly pay processes, performing administrative duties and ad-hoc duties as they arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the preparation of provincial and federal reporting and remittances (i.e. WCB, WSIB, EHT, etc.)
- Collect and verify timekeeping information from employees, resolve payroll issues and clarify any employee inquiries regarding pay.
- Assist with year-end reconciliations and tax form preparation such as T4s and ROEs
- Assist in processing information for new hires, resignations and terminations and work alongside the HR department.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance.
- Prepare reports to support other departments with regards to payroll
- Performing ad-hoc administrative/reporting duties as they arise.
