Description:

We are looking for a temporary Payroll Clerk to join our team who will be responsible for all aspects of managing employee data, ensuring timesheet accuracy and payments every week.
The qualified candidate will have experience processing payroll for both union and non-union personnel, full year-end processing knowledge, managing weekly and monthly remittances, and maintaining a high level of customer service with employees and management.
The successful administrator must have strong communication skills, solid numerical aptitude, attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and be able to multitask effectively.

SUMMARY:

  • Job Title: Payroll Clerk.
  • Location: 8533 Airport Road W Mount Hope, ON L0R 1W0
  • Pay: $50,000 - 55,000 Annually.
  • Duration: 3-4 Months

REQUIREMENTS:

  • PCP certificate or 3+ years of working experience is required.
  • Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; with strong Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of relevant government websites.
  • Previous use of ExakTime and or Jonas as an asset.
  • Strong ability to always maintain confidentiality in the course of work as well as exercise discretion.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the utilized time and attendance system.
  • Maintain employee records within our internal program.
  • Review payable hours, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions.
  • Prepare and issue earnings statements.
  • Process all government remittances; Receiver General, WSIB, EHT, etc.
  • Provide accurate information and answer employee questions about their payroll-related matters.
  • Review, adjust, and issue year-end T4s; including all required government remittances.
  • Coordinate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the accounting department.
  • GL reconciliations for all payroll accounts.
  • Ensure payroll practices meet legislative requirements.
  • Other duties as per requirement.
