The Payroll Clerk will process payroll and maintain employee time records. 120-170 Employees

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
  • Must process multi-company, multi-state (WA & CA, MI) payroll and reporting.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Review for accuracy all payroll reports & deposits for any Federal or State taxes produced by the processing of payroll from the outsourced payroll company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Confidentially maintain employee master files with all required forms
  • Notify and assist accounting department of all payroll related information which affects the general ledger and company financial records.

Requirements:

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
  • Efficient and accurate with 10-key data entry.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in payroll required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
