Description:

We are offering a three-month contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join our team in the airline industry based in Bloomington, Minnesota. This role involves leading the payroll processing side, coordinating audits, and having a strong emphasis on tax and tax auditing. The job function includes maintaining accurate customer records, resolving issues, and ensuring all files balance once they have been loaded in. This role will initially be in-office with the potential to move to a hybrid model.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the payroll processing side ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Coordinate and ensure audits have been completed as per the industry standards
  • Maintain a strong focus on tax and tax auditing, ensuring taxes are set up correctly
  • Resolve any payroll-related issues promptly and efficiently
  • Complete registrations if the company ventures into new jurisdictions
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP’s for various payroll tasks
  • Ensure the full cycle payroll process is followed, reviewing and importing files as necessary
  • Check all files balance once they have been loaded in, resolving any discrepancies
  • Oversee the funding process once the audit is complete
  • Manage the payroll of both salaried and hourly employees on a bi-weekly basis
  • Work in collaboration with the team handling the crew member payroll.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the airline industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Dayforce software is essential
  • Demonstrated experience with full cycle payroll processes
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll taxes and related regulations
  • Familiarity with benefit functions and their application in payroll
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred
