These lands are steeped in rich Indigenous history, traditions and modern cultures that are proud and vibrant.Responsibilities: Reporting to the Supervisor of Payroll and Benefits, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for administering board benefits, LTD and pension programs in compliance with applicable legislation and agreements; implementing detailed payroll transactions while adhering to deadlines and ensuring compliance with Federal and Provincial legislation; and calculating and completing monthly remittances, reconciliations, and reports. Key responsibilities include monitoring and processing all aspects of benefits, pensions, and payroll with an exceptional level of accuracy; ensuring compliance with federal and provincial payroll and information privacy legislation; utilize HRIS information relevant to new, current, and inactive employees; prepare benefit, payroll and ministry related reports; maintenance of all pension data and processes. Qualifications: The successful applicant must be capable of performing the above responsibilities and must possess; a three-year college diploma in human resources, accounting, or business administration, and at least two years related job experience.
Certification with Canadian Payroll Association (PCP) is considered an asset. The incumbent will be proficient and accurate with benefit and pension administration, payroll operations, financial records management, and department policies/procedures; excellent computer skills utilizing databases and spreadsheets required; excellent communication, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills. Experience with Teachers’ Pension and / or OMERS is considered an asset. The successful candidate will also be required to submit a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Background Check dated within six (6) months of their date of hire as a condition of employment.
