Description:
We are in search of a Payroll Coordinator to join our dynamic team located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role offers a contract-to-hire employment opportunity, where you will be involved in regular communication with employees and coordinating a variety of requests in our payroll system, including PTO request, garnishments, LOA, etc. This person will be the point of contact for employees answering all payroll related questions and requests.
Responsibilities:
- Regularly communicate with employees via email and inbound calls to process requests pertaining to payroll adjustments and corrections
- Support the payroll processing team by submitting requests for time off, LOA, withholdings, and reimbursements
- Troubleshoot and rectify discrepancies in payroll entries including Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, Worker’s Compensation, etc.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and state laws regarding payroll activities
- Accurately data enter all requests and updates within the payroll software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll information
- Previous experience working with multiple screens and multiple systems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
