Payroll/HR Assistant – 14-month term
Holland Power Services Inc., a subsidiary of Alectra Inc., is a leading power line restoration company in North America with operations in New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, and New England.

YOUR SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of payroll processes and familiarity with payroll and HRIS systems
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, and proficient in using Office 365 applications
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record keeping, and document management
  • Excellent math skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written is required
  • Competence in French at an intermediate level is required

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in business, accounting, payroll or human resource administration
  • Minimum 1 year of payroll/accounting related experience

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the accurate and timely processing of Canadian and US payroll
  • Maintain employee records, and ensure data integrity in our HRIS system (BambooHR)
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of new hire documentation, reference and employment verifications
  • Assist with and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll and storm employee onboarding
  • Maintain and report on eligible storm employee lists and apprentice hour reviews and communications
  • Collaborate with Payroll & HR team members on various projects and initiatives
  • Flexibility to be called in at anytime to support the mobilization of emergency power restoration crews
  • Work onsite at our corporate location in Hanwell, NB.
  • Flexibility to work from home a maximum of two days per week if operational needs allow.
