Description:
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, calculations, and reporting, while also supporting various human resources functions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to maintain accurate and confidential employee information. Proficiency in Sage 300 ERP is essential.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll processing and human resources administration.
- Proven experience with Sage 300 ERP software is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll and employment laws.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
- Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using Sage 300.
- Calculate and process employee wages, deductions, and taxes, including income tax, CPP, EI, and other applicable deductions.
- Process year-end T4s and other required government reports.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, timecards, and benefit information.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Human Resources Support:
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks.
- Maintain employee personnel files and ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including resolving employee concerns and addressing workplace issues.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, and retirement plans.
- Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain employee attendance records and track vacation and sick leave.
- Assist with the coordination of employee training and development programs.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Assist with other HR and administrative tasks as required.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with relevant legislation and best practices.
