Handshake is seeking an experienced Payroll Implementation Consultant for a 4-5 month contract to lead the selection and implementation of a new payroll provider. The consultant will play a critical role in overseeing payroll integration with Workday, ensuring seamless payroll processes for our operations in the UK and Germany, as well as the subsequent change management process to ensure our internal teams and employees understand the new payroll processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in implementing payroll processes and systems, specifically for the UK and Germany.
  • Extensive experience working with Workday, particularly in payroll integration projects. Understanding of other financial systems such as NetSuite is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time and tasks efficiently.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus but not required.
    For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the selection process for a new payroll provider that meets Handshake’s requirements for the UK and Germany.
  • Manage the end-to-end implementation of the selected payroll system, ensuring timely and efficient execution
  • Oversee the integration of the new payroll system with Workday, ensuring all processes are aligned and function smoothly.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct thorough testing of the new payroll system to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on the new payroll system and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local payroll regulations and standards in the UK and Germany.
