Description:

The Payroll Manager will oversee and manage payroll operations for the company, ensuring pay is processed accurately and on time. The position is responsible for payroll processing and reporting, managing a payroll staff, maintaining payroll procedures, and stakeholder management to achieve payroll compliance and to minimize risk and liability. Additionally, the person in this role will be an expert in UKG, be well-versed in its functionality, capable of implementing various modules, and troubleshooting to deliver solutions when issues arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute all payroll processes including benefit deductions, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions ensuring integrity in processing weekly, bi-weekly, and unionized payrolls.
  • Ensure the new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify, implement, review, and improve payroll systems, policies, and processes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate weekly, quarterly, and yearly records and reports of payroll transactions. Provide necessary payroll registers, reports, etc. that are needed by accounting.
  • Provide UKG system training and support to managers, supervisors, and employees of the organization.
  • Facilitate payroll audits by providing records and documentation needed by the auditors.
  • Exercise project management skills by leading multiple projects in compressed timelines while maintaining quality.
  • Participate in cross functional projects as they pertain to the payroll function.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Continuously research and identify industry and payroll best practices.
