Description:

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • CIPP qualified or equivalent experience
  • Experience of leading and co-ordinating a team
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and a keen eye for detail
  • Experience of using databases, MS Office (specifically Excel), Sage 50 Payroll and other computer-based applications
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and able to prioritise own workload and use own initiative
  • Ability to work quickly and calmly and under pressure
  • Subject matter expert with a flexible approach, to include the ability to offer support and training to other team members as required.
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to give explanations clearly
  • Flexible attitude to working, including willingness to work additional hours as required in order to meet the payroll deadlines

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team!
This role will oversee the payroll function to successfully deliver an efficient and effective payroll service. Including: multi pay frequency company payrolls both UK and ROI; all payroll activity from starters to leavers and everything in between; working closely with the HR team; NEST pensions management; liaison with our third-party agents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all payrolls are processed accurately and on time (monthly, weekly, fortnightly)
  • Analyse data reports to ensure accurate payroll records in both payroll & time & attendance systems
  • Accuracy audits on the set up and processing of new starters and leavers
  • Auditability of payroll amendments, change of rates/locations
  • Continually review processes and develop the payroll function to ensure meets current legislation
  • Respond and resolve payroll queries promptly, acting as escalation point
  • Reconciliation and submission of third-party payments i.e. HMRC, NEST, Attachment of Earnings
  • Working closely with key stakeholders to contribute to continuous improvement
  • Collaborative working on projects, including TUPE
  • Detailed knowledge of PAYE/NIC/Statutory payments and HMRC processes including RTI, FPS
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis of payroll data as required
  • Month end and End of Year processing of P60
  • Deliver staff training, support and development
