YOUR BAU ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Drive the operational delivery of weekly and monthly end to end Payroll services within a complex business with multiple Terms & Conditions.
  • Creation of Payroll Service Standards and measurable KPIs for payroll response times monthly payroll accuracy levels.
  • Manage a Payroll administration team to deliver the required level of service for all transactions relating to the administration of pension payroll products for all STERIS Companies.
  • Completion of Statutory Reporting - Payroll Year End HMRC Reporting – including P11D, PSA, P60 – Gender Pay Gap Reporting
  • Management of Pension Administration within the payroll system
  • Support all team members with clearly defined capability and development plans, to close any capability gaps/address any under performance and ensure team member’s potential is maximised, with consistently high levels of productivity and accuracy achieved
  • Integrating the payroll of any future company acquisitions.
  • Audit and reconcile payroll registers, validate accuracy and completion of data prior to transmission.
  • Monitoring of a Payroll system, ensuring full compliance with UK statutory payroll requirements, T&Cs and business processes.
  • Establish policies, procedures and controls to ensure tax and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Driving efficiencies within the payroll department including implementing new systems and improving the existing processes
  • Ensure all processes are fit for purpose with robust controls in place and compliance with all internal policy and external regulations. Escalate risks and issues to Financial Controller.
  • Critically review and analyse current payroll processes in order to provide recommendations and solutions to HR and Finance for opportunities to streamline and further automate existing processes
  • Initiate and participate in business initiatives, ensuring continued statutory compliance and delivery of service
  • Act as point of escalation regarding advice and support in aspects relating to Payroll activity to customers at all levels, both internal and external.
  • Support the annual financial audit process.
  • Operating as a member of the finance management team, including attending management meetings

ALL ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

Formal Payroll Management Qualification Understanding and experience of Public Sector Payroll – preferably NHS / AFC Contract
Demonstrable Payroll Project Management Experience – system and process implementation, payroll onboarding, TUPE etc.
Experience in delivering payroll projects - system changes, legislation updates
Understanding and experience of TUPE transitions and impact on payroll and payroll systems.
Payroll Systems configuration and Data Reporting experience
Adaptability, resilience & persistence with a keen desire to support change & drive improvement
