Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and fast learning Payroll Officer to join NEPEAN. Reporting to the Shared Services Finance Manager, the Payroll Officer will prepare or assist in the preparation and payment of wages, maintenance of employee files and Payroll Administration across multiple NEPEAN businesses.

Duties will include, but not be limited to;

  • Processing end to end, multiple weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
  • Interpreting relevant Award and EA’s to correctly process payroll.
  • Attending to payroll queries.
  • Maintain pay records, associated time keeping data statistics, leave records and related information.
  • Assist in the processing of workers compensation claims.
  • Process and Reconcile End of Financial Year.
  • Monthly reconciling of payroll, PAYG and superannuation payments and authorised payroll deductions.
  • Calculating Termination and Redundancy Pays
  • Onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Processing of headcount, various leave reports and other employee reporting.
  • General administration and ad hoc reporting

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Minimum 5 years prior experience and solid track record in payroll
  • Experience in multi-site and weekly / monthly payroll cycles.
  • Ability to interpret appropriate Awards and NES.
  • Pronto experience will be highly regarded.
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Be an organised team player.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Customer service driven.
  • Demonstrated experience working under pressure.
  • Have excellent time managements skills with the ability to prioritise and meet targets.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills
