Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The purpose of the Payroll Officer is to be responsible for the processing of the Southern Cross Austereo monthly, fortnightly and ad hoc payrolls. This role will also support in the effective use and management of payroll data held within any of SCA’s various HRIS systems.
This role will also provide high quality payroll advice, support and information services to the Southern Cross Austereo group, whilst supporting the development of systems and procedures to improve Southern Cross Austereo’s payroll processing and service to employees.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Handle various aspects of payroll processing, including employee master data, leave accruals, bank file preparation, and transfers to the Financials system.
  • Manage employee terminations, redundancies, Award rates, casual timesheets, and organization structure within the Financials system.
  • Provide efficient and accurate payroll advice, covering superannuation, termination payments, and awards, to the Southern Cross Austereo group.
  • Support the implementation of new HR/Payroll functionality through documentation and testing, working with the Payroll Manager and support community.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager in ensuring compliance with ATO payroll legislation and Superannuation Guarantee Contributions, and facilitate the smooth delivery of various reports for company reporting.
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of reports for company reporting e.g.: staff turnover, pay relativities and information required for EOWA reporting.
  • Liaison with and support for, GL team in bank reconciliations, superannuation payments, and payroll tax, and interpretation of Payroll to GL journal postings.
  • ABS surveys, ATO reporting including EOFY returns, Centrelink and Child Support Agency queries.
