VCU’s Payroll Services Department has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Operations Manager to join our team!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The duties of the Payroll Operations Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Directs maintenance and revision of all Payroll related functions of the Banner system.
  • Manages computer system issues related to Payroll processing, including training, reporting, problem solving and enhancement proposals.
  • Ensures the integrity of data in the University’s computer systems, including Human Resources and Payroll systems.
  • Ensures institutional compliance with Federal, State and University policies, guidelines and procedures relative to Payroll.
  • Provides leadership to the Payroll Operational staff (3 Payroll Specialists) and assist in directing payroll operations in the absence of the Director.
  • Ensures that all payrolls are processed accurately and timely and in accordance with all Federal and State laws.
  • Coordinates daily processes.
  • Provides examples of best business practices as needed.
  • This is a hybrid position that requires the incumbent to work in the office at least 2 days per week, with the possibility of additional on-site days as needed.
  • On-site training is required.
