Role Overview:
Huntsman is seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team in Krakow. As part of our dynamic Global Business Services (GBS) organization, this role plays a vital part in supporting business operations across the EMEA region. Based in the heart of Krakow, our GBS hub provides innovative, efficient solutions for a variety of business needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll processes for Poland, ensuring that all payroll activities are handled with precision and in a timely manner. You will work closely with our payroll provider, providing the necessary data and supporting payroll calculations in alignment with local regulations and corporate policies. This position reports directly to the Payroll Team Leader.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Managing payroll activities such as employee onboarding, payroll calculation support (including social charges, income tax, holidays, severance pay, and income data) in compliance with local laws and company policies.
- Delivering accurate payroll data to the payroll provider for preparation and processing.
- Analysing, validating, and reviewing payroll results to ensure accuracy.
- Participating in payroll-related projects, including changing payroll providers, process improvements, standardization, and digitalization efforts.
- Ensuring internal procedures align with labour and social security legislation.
- Applying fundamental HR principles related to employment within the payroll function.
Experience and Competencies:
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Polish payroll processes (end-to-end or vendor-managed). Knowledge of payroll processes in other countries, such as the UK, Switzerland, Germany, or France, is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the payroll process within modern business environments.
- Ability to independently monitor, interpret, and apply policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and company strategies.
- Proficient in managing payroll systems with little to no supervision, while providing technical guidance as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas, request actions, and plan policies clearly and effectively.
- Familiarity with standard office tools and software packages, with the ability to support business processes autonomously.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate at various levels. Additional European languages are a plus.
