Description:
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll functions, maintaining accurate employee records, and resolving payroll-related queries. This role will also require you to monitor and manage employee accounts and take appropriate actions as needed.
Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processing biweekly payroll, performing necessary clerical, payroll functions needed to complete this task.

Processing biweekly payroll, including all necessary clerical and payroll functions
Setting up new hourly hires in Paycor
Setting up temporary employees in Time on Demand as backup
Assigning and maintaining schedules for all hourly employees
Conducting daily audits of department timesheets and alerting Group Leaders/Managers of any issues
Correcting timesheet anomalies in the time clock database
Reviewing Daily Attendance Sheets for potential pay related issues
Ensuring timely processing of Leave Requests by Group Leaders/Managers
Verifying that approved vacation days in the system align with the correct date and pay period
Inputting payroll deductions into the system for uniforms, garnishments, child support payments, and 401K contributions
Entering employee direct deposit forms into the payroll database
Transferring time clock data to the payroll system biweekly
Running and saving final reports as backup
Transmitting payroll data to Paycor as backup
Assisting all departments with payroll related inquiries
Responding to external agency requests relating to payroll
Calculating and issuing manual checks when necessary
Maintaining and storing payroll files in an organized manner
Acting as backup for payroll orientation when the supervisor is unavailable
Verifying all payroll documents have required signatures before processing
Performing related duties as required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Automated Payroll systems.
- Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
- Experience with Full Cycle Payroll is essential.
- Familiarity with Multi-state Payroll processing.
- Experience in handling Payroll for over 500 Employees.
- Knowledge of Payroll Compliance and Payroll Functions.
- Proficiency in Payroll Tax Returns, Payroll Taxes, Payroll Tax Deposits, and Payroll Tax Reporting.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel is required.
