REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years of multi-state payroll experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with prevailing wages / certified payrolls and tax filings.
  • Experienced in payroll software (e.g. Rippling, ADP, UKG or similar systems)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

Unlimited Technology is a security systems integrator looking to add a Payroll Specialist to our team. The Payroll Specialist will support the Payroll, People Operations and Accounting teams and provide excellent customer service to our employees located throughout the country.
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting with the preparation of payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves processing payroll information, maintaining payroll records, and providing support to the payroll team. The Payroll Specialist must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under deadlines. As we are in the process of switching ERP systems, the candidate must embrace change as the Company is quickly evolving.
This position reports to the Corporate Controller.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Payroll Processing:
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly payroll.
  • Enter and update employee payroll information in the payroll system.
  • Verify timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Record Maintenance:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and employee files.
  • Handle payroll-related documentation, including tax forms, direct deposit forms, and benefit enrollments.
  • Update payroll system with new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
  • Reporting and Compliance:
  • Assist in preparing payroll reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and reporting requirements.
  • Support the payroll team during audits and reconciliations.
  • Employee Support:
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
  • Provide information and assistance regarding payroll processes and procedures.
  • Assist employees with completing payroll-related forms and documents.
