Description:

We are in search of a diligent and well-versed Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director to be a part of our team based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The individual will be entrusted with the responsibility of handling all payroll services for our extensive workforce. This role involves close collaboration with human resources, finance, and operational leadership to implement payroll solutions that curtail risk and maximize the profitability of the organization.

SKILLS:

  • Proficient in ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode, 401k - RRSP Administration, About Time, Accounting Functions, Auditing, Benefit Functions, Workday, Workday Enterprise Learning, Workday ERP, Workday Financial Management, Workday HCM.
  • Must possess proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
  • Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is crucial
  • Experience with 401k - RRSP Administration is required
  • Proficiency in About Time software is important
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Functions
  • Proven skills in Auditing
  • Should be well-versed with Benefit Functions
  • Experience with Workday, Workday Enterprise Learning, Workday ERP, Workday Financial Management, and Workday HCM is necessary
  • Must have the ability to supervise and manage payroll operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for interaction with different departments
  • Strong leadership skills to lead a team effectively
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
  • Prior experience in a similar role is necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the professional development and career growth planning activities for the payroll department.
  • Provide timely coaching to staff members to contribute to their professional development.
  • Manage a team of payroll analysts, ensuring they support our employees in their pay-related queries within the customer service SLA commitments.
  • Stay updated with changes in minimum wage, wage and hour law, sick leave, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Foster an environment where team members feel empowered to take ownership and make decisions.
  • Make staffing recommendations, including hiring and terminations, and perform annual performance evaluations for team members.
  • Utilize technology and data analytics to devise creative, thoughtful solutions to payroll issues.
  • Align the resources of the payroll services function to support business objectives.
  • Identify and analyze operational needs with solid problem-solving abilities.
  • Provide mentorship in establishing vision and goals, with a proven record of developing team members.
