Description:

We are on the lookout for a diligent Payroll Supervisor in the educational industry. The position is located in Portland, Maine and offers an exciting opportunity for a meticulous individual to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, plan, and organize the payroll function to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate reporting requirements to various government agencies and process reconciliations.
  • Provide technical leadership in the use of payroll systems.
  • Communicate actively with the HR and Benefits teams to ensure accuracy in benefits withholdings.
  • Collaborate with Finance staff for biweekly payroll processing and reconciliation.
  • Monitor, manage and resolve issues related to payroll processing.
  • Leverage Microsoft Excel and ADP - Financial Services to streamline payroll processes.
  • Handle payroll for over 500 employees with attention to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all tasks.
  • Recommend best practice operations for the payroll function.
  • Possess at least 5 years of experience as a Payroll Supervisor or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP - Payroll.
  • Expertise in handling payroll for over 500 employees.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and create reports.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience in the Education sector is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
