We’re seeking a Payroll Technical Analyst who will play a critical role in delivering payroll technical requirements as well as assist with the delivery of projects across the function including audits, investigations, analysis, gathering business requirements, implementing compliance and other technical aspects.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Deliver payroll technical requirements including integration checks, data validations and corrections to allow our Payroll operations team to deliver the payruns
  • Assist with delivery of system enhancements, which could include gather current state, requirements, testing, documentation and change management
  • Extract, analyse and interpret large sets of data, identifying and rectifying inconsistencies and driving improved quality and integrity
  • Identify critical aspects of the end-to-end process that impact payroll, and work with the business to identify and embed solutions to avoid such issues arising
  • Assist with the documentation of technical delivery manuals and knowledge management
  • Assist with auditing systems to ensure they are compliant and carry out analysis of payroll data, processes and outputs
  • Drive change and continuous improvement to ensure efficiency across our payroll function

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Payroll Analyst role, or working in a high performing payroll function (in-house corporate experience preferred), combined with strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using iChris/Chris21 highly desirable, as is any exposure to the Workday ERP solution
  • Solid understanding of payroll operations, systems and processes
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply provision of relevant legislation, awards, certified agreements and company policies
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills to determine payroll outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, having had success previously in a role requiring quick thinking and agility
