SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven track record in sales roles, with experience in protective coatings, coatings, or trade sales.
  • Strong ability to identify corrosion solutions and write technical specifications.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve customer complaints effectively.
  • Solid understanding of project management concepts and time management.
  • Proficient in computer skills, report writing, and managing detailed documentation.

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE:

We are seeking a driven and self-motivated Technical Sales Representative to join our team at DuluxGroup, covering the North Queensland region from Townsville to Weipa and out to Mount Isa. This role combines maintaining and nurturing existing customer relationships while also pursuing new business opportunities. Based in Cairns, you will work independently and report to the State Sales Manager to ensure the growth and success of your customer base.
Your responsibilities will include managing customer calls, addressing administration tasks like following up on credits and invoice errors, and working closely with the local store manager and staff to maximize customer opportunities through Inspirations Mackay. You will utilize tools like C4C and email to manage your daily tasks and ensure smooth communication and effective service delivery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write specifications and conduct client visits to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Identify new business opportunities and work to grow the existing business in the region.
  • Analyze sales performance and identify opportunities to improve the product mix.
  • Address and maintain accurate documentation of customer non-compliance to specifications.
  • Gather and distribute market intelligence to support business and customer needs by monitoring competitor performance and capturing relevant market information that impacts business and store performance.
