QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Must obtain BLS-CPR within the first three months of employment in this position and maintain it
- Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
- Must have excellent customer service skills
Preferred:
- GED or High School Diploma
- Hospital patient transport experience
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
- Per Diem (position minimum four shifts in a month, one weekend, and rotating holidays
Responsibilities:
- As a Transporter, you are an integral part of the patient care team
- The Transporter position transports patients within the hospital network via stretcher or wheelchair, to and from patient care and treatment areas in a safe and efficient manner
- Transporters will assist with patient’s positioning and mobility
- A transporter must be able to communicate well with the patient to assure a positive experience
- The transporter will perform all other duties as assigned running errands, linen exchange, and the cleaning of equipment
- The transporter plays a key role in patient care and patient safety:
- Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas, medical errors, etc.,
