We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Penetration Test Engineer with a focus on AWS to join our consulting team.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: SENIOR

You have experience in penetration testing Data Center and Cloud systems and proposing recommendations for improvements. Your background will include experience with penetration testing Windows and Linux based systems hosted on-prem and in the Cloud. Your Cloud focus will be on Amazon Web Service and GCP systems. You’ll have experience with multi-account AWS infrastructure and good governance mechanisms, and how these can be bypassed. You have expert knowledge of attacking IAM, hybrid on-premises and Cloud hosted applications. You understand how AWS native security solutions (GuardDuty, SecurityHub, Macie.) factor into the defensive infrastructure.
You’ll be familiar with concepts such as OWASP Top 10 and MITRE ATT&CK. You understand DevOps processes and how infrastructure as code can be used to build out Cloud systems and where weaknesses and vulnerabilities creep in. You know what Terraform and CloudFormation are. Your background may have included working as one or more of: a security analyst, red Team, DevSecOps Engineer, penetration tester or architecting secure multi-cloud systems in the past.
You know what the PTES is. You have knowledge of ethical hacking principles and a strong commitment to ethical and legal conduct.
You’re familiar with Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite and Metasploit. You augment your knowledge of cloud systems by using tools such as ScoutSuite for infrastructure and vulnerability detection.
Your experience in networking extends to networking protocols, services, and infrastructure essential for identifying potential attack vectors.
You have knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to write custom scripts and tools for testing and exploitation.
You attend conferences, and even better talk/volunteer/help organize them. You enjoy CTF challenges, reading or listening to podcasts on the subject. You are happy presenting to clients including senior management and have good written skills for compiling findings and recommendations reports.
Finally, you have a passion for learning. You won’t mind expanding your skill set, playing Hack-the-Box, cross-training team members and earning new certifications.
You love learning and understand that software is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet. You are self-driven, self-learner willing to share knowledge and participate actively in your community.
Having overlap with your team is critical when working in a global remote team. Modus requires all team members to overlap with EST hours daily. In addition, reliable high speed internet is a must.
