Overview:
At GBS-Buck, we are offering an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Pension Consulting Actuary to join our team. This role stands out for its outstanding blend of client interaction and technical expertise, ensuring flawless execution of pension consulting services. Your work will be pivotal in determining and successfully implementing solutions that exceed client expectations. How you’ll make an impact:

  • Prepare and coordinate letters and reports with minimal direction, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Supervise all phases of actuarial valuations and special projects to deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop materials for and attend client meetings; make compelling presentations to clients and prospects.
  • Manage the implementation of new services strictly adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate and review project assignments to ensure a timely and flawless work product.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of proposals for consulting services.
  • Proactively provide consulting services and develop responsive, innovative solutions.
  • Meet billable hours objectives by applying your proven skills in producing client deliverables.
  • Take personal responsibility for the timeliness and quality of work performed, ensuring it meets budgetary constraints.
  • Explain and help clients analyze the pros and cons of various solutions, demonstrating relevant software and tools as needed.
  • Apply the tools of the trade, including guidance from regulators, statements from accounting standards boards, and internal consulting expertise.
  • Maintain significant contact with clients of all sizes, addressing work product and client inquiries.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of proposals for additional consulting services.
  • Listen to clients, understand their problems, and articulate effective solutions.
  • Seek to grow client relationships and continuously improve the efficiency of our services to remain competitive.
  • Consult with other GBS-Buck lines of business regarding projects and expanded client relations.
  • Assist in the preparation of client invoices, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

About you:

  • Substantial experience in actuarial consultancy with a proven track record.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and carry out tasks within deadlines.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Proactive individual with a positive attitude, who works well within a team.
  • Attention to detail and dedication to producing high-quality work.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in relevant software.
  • Strong management skills.
  • FIA/FFA qualified, reflecting your dedication to professional excellence.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
