POSITION SUMMARY:

The People Advisor in Human Resources plays a crucial role in supporting the HR functions and providing HR solutions during the fixed-term maternity leave cover. This position is geared towards creating a seamless employee experience while ensuring that HR policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to. You will be a key point of contact for employees, assisting with their queries and guiding them through HR processes. Your role will involve working closely with management to ensure the business objectives are met while fostering a strong company culture. As People Advisor,you will support the implementation of Workday and the introduction of an Electronic Document Management System. This exciting role focuses on delivering efficient, high-quality people services and support. You will handle routine tasks, ensure compliance, manage employee inquiries, and facilitate people processes such as onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations. By providing responsive and standardised people services, you will enable the people function to support day-to-day operations effectively, allowing other people roles to focus on strategic initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in an HR generalist role or a similar position, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of HR functions, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Experience with Workday manager, employee self-service and case management tools is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable using HRIS systems and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide practical HR solutions.
  • Knowledge of payroll experience preferred though not essential, including payroll, benefits, and pension reporting preferred.
  • Experience in the gaming industry is a plus, but not required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of HR experience preferred, with exposure to various HR functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR support to employees through a variety of processes including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Act as an advisor to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Regular maintenance of Workday, ensuring updates are made in a timely fashion and carrying out regular data cleanses.
  • Preparing requested reports and completing analysis of information to identify trends, areas of improvement and continued business excellence.
  • Effective management of queries through Workday case management system within agreed service levels.
  • Support with the implementation of Workdays Electronic Document Management System, creating and reviewing necessary documents.
  • Proactively encouraging the use of self-service tools and portal by all employees and managers.
  • Collaborating with People Centres of Excellence to resolve any questions that ‘break policy’ and provide feedback on questions / issues.
  • Administration support for onboarding, off boarding, payroll and personnel administration process, as needed – preparing contracts, updating relevant systems.
  • Manage the entire recruitment process including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires.
  • Support performance management processes by providing guidance on performance reviews and employee development plans.
  • Assist in implementing employee engagement initiatives and programs to foster a positive work environment.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment laws while supporting HR projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain and update employee records and ensure accurate HRIS data entry.
  • Participate in employee training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the HR function and the broader organization.
