We’re seeking a passionate and experienced P&C Business Partner to join our supportive and close-knit P&C team. In this key role, you’ll collaborate closely with our leaders and employees to ensure best practice and outcomes within the business.
The position is based in Christchurch, but reports to the P&C BP Lead – South located in Wellington and the P&CBP Lead NZ. The remainder of the team are located in different offices across New Zealand to be able to provide assistance and support to our large business. This role will primarily support our business which has bases all across the South Island, frequent travel within the South Island and in the North Island will be required.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead strategic People & Culture thinking and initiatives for the Southern Region
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Southern Region to consistently influence pragmatic solutions and constructively challenge within the remit of people and culture
  • Work with the HR Advice function, the Recruitment team and the Training & Development team to ensure that the People & Culture service is efficient, accessible, timely and seamless
  • Actively build the capability of managers in People & Culture process and best practise through support and guidance
  • Be recognised as a trusted advisor for leadership in the Southern Region

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline is desirable
  • Experienced HR Generalist providing HR and ER advice to managers and supporting the business through change processes
  • Can build effective relationships with all levels of the company
  • Ability to influence and constructively challenge
  • Deal effectively with conflict
  • Self-managed and can take the initiative
  • A strong customer focus including the ability to develop solutions that provide value for money
  • Comfortable with complexity and at times ambiguity, with an ability to provide sound judgement and logical solutions.
  • Enjoys a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in a complex work environment, deal with ambiguity and across functions
