Job Title: People and Culture Manager
Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer
Location: Hybrid, required to travel to our Provincial Office (1179 King St W, Toronto, ON, M6K 3C5) or a regional office when required
Hours: 37.5hrs per week
Annual Salary: $85000-$90,000
Duration: One year contract
Position Overview: This role will lead a team of HR professionals to support Autism Ontario’s day-to-day HR operations and will be overseeing the delivery of all HR processes relating to employee life cycle transactions, HRIS optimization to ensure consistency, integrity and equity in the work we deliver. With lenses on continuous improvements and HR best practices, you will recommend sustainable business solutions to drive a high-performing team As a trusted advisor and partner to all Autism Ontario employees, the People and Culture Manager provides advice, guidance, and support on all HR matters, including HR strategies, policies, guidelines, and programs and HR specialty areas like EDI, total rewards, performance management, employee relations and talent acquisition etc. In collaboration with the Chief Human Resources Officer, they contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies in alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

HR (50%)

  • Provide talent acquisition and retention techniques, enhancing the recruitment process and time. Advice on job design and enhance job evaluation processes.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are current and are in keeping with current relevant legislation for Human Resources (HR), ESA, Health and Safety, and AODA.
  • Provide guidance and support related to HR policies, practices and procedures.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify performance gaps, provide coaching and support and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Act as the go-to person for employees to get advice, guidance and coaching on matters related to policy, disability management, and accommodation.
  • Ensure all HR management functions including recruitment, training, employee relations and performance management are carried out according to Autism Ontario’s policies and procedures.
  • Supervisory responsibilities for managing the performance of the assigned HR team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
