Description:

Title: People and Culture Officer
Report to: Director, People and Culture
Location: Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall
Contract duration: 18 months

SUMMARY

The People and Culture Officer, under the direction of the Director, People and Culture, is responsible for overseeing proper administration of personnel files for diocesan lay employees, Catholic Cemetery employees and members of the clergy. The People and Culture Officer will also be responsible for administering group insurance benefits and the pension plan for eligible individuals. He / She will also provide support to Safe Environment as/when needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Hands-on experience in recruitment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) in both official languages (English and French)
  • Demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Detail-oriented team player with strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all staff, clergy, and volunteer information.
  • Excellent knowledge of office 365, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church and its hierarchical functioning would be considered an asset.
  • Recent Enhanced Police Information Check (EPIC).
