Sunshine Coast Community Services Society is a community-based organization that has been providing services for people on the Sunshine Coast since 1974. SUMMARY:

Join our dedicated team and contribute to an organization committed to delivering community-based services. As a People & Culture Partner, this role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including employee and labor relations, full-cycle recruitment, disability management, learning and development, compensation, performance management, people and culture engagement, health and wellness, and advising, mentoring, and coaching leaders on people-related issues. The People & Culture Partner will report directly to the Director of People and Culture.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR work experience. Has a solid foundation of experience in all aspects of the employee life cycle.
  • A Knack for creating clarity in complex situations and building trust with employees and leaders.
  • Proven experience in supporting the development and implementation of P&C policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
  • Experience working in a unionized or non-profit sector, understanding the dynamics and complexities involved are considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive people support on a day-to-day basis, addressing employee inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Analyze employee engagement data to identify trends and provide tailored solutions that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage the recruitment and hiring processes, including updating job descriptions, posting job openings, screening candidates, and conducting interviews to ensure a seamless hiring experience.
  • Stay current on employment laws, regulations, and legal requirements related to people management, ensuring leaders are compliant.
  • Support the annual performance review process to foster employee development and organizational growth.
  • Manage leave of absences, workplace investigations, accommodations, and other employee relations issues with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Provide advice, counsel and support to supervisors regarding employee relations, including coaching and appropriate documentation.
  • Assist in the implementation and training of the selected HRIS, ensuring smooth adoption and utilization.
  • Researches and recommends P&C policies that support the direction of the Society and that are based on industry best practices.
  • Streamline P&C process by implementing and managing effective documentation and workflows, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and expand workforce analytics by preparing, analyzing, and organizing P&C reports.
  • Actively participate in employee resource groups and committees, such as People and Culture, and Health and Safety.
  • Provide ad-hoc support on additional team projects as they arise, contributing to the overall success of P&C initiatives.
