Description:
In close partnership with Board members and their teams and the Head of Business Partnering, you will deliver proactive and impactful people initiatives to ensure the business is equipped for success
You will support the delivery of a strategic People Team plan that enables the business to continue developing a great employee experience along with operational support and coaching of leaders in your business areas.
Report to: Head of People Business Partnering and Operations
What you’ll be doing…
Insights and Solutions:
- Use data and insights to lead and influence people changes at a department, team and individual level, measuring the impact of these changes.
- Role model a positive “can-do” attitude to finding solutions; enabling others to positively change their behaviours to deliver our vision.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and performance of the People Team, enabling a great colleague experience at JCDecaux.
Company-wide projects
Lead or participate in People projects to enable the optimum colleague experience and the most effective business possible, working with colleagues in the people team and wider business.
Performance & Development
- Proactively support the business to enable high quality continuous development and a culture of active learning. This is underpinned by meaningful performance and career conversations using our “Be Your Best” framework to set goals, review performance, give feedback and agree development plans.
- Enable managers to address poor performance actively and fairly and also focus on stretching, motivating and engaging high performers
- Proactively identify underlying skills and development needs for teams and partner with the L&D team to source solutions
Organisational design , change and organisational effectiveness
- Collaborate with leaders, IT transformation and the Head of BP to evaluate challenges and opportunities within the organisational design of departments and propose changes in order to deliver our strategic goals.
Carry out long rage and 12 month reviews of skills and capabilities needed v current resource, and recommend the best way to build them.
- Effectively deliver organisational changes through: excellent communication and engagement, strong project management, sound legal advice, find solutions and approaches that are both pragmatic and fair and meet ACAS best practice
- Ensure that leaders are fully trained, supported and coached on their role in leading the change process
Employee relations
- Ensure that relocation, TUPE, variations to terms and conditions or redundancy are effectively managed to resolution through proactive planning, legal guidance and full consideration of the business context; seeking pragmatic solutions.
Lead on the small number of employee relations matters which arise in the departments you work with, including mediation, advising managers, supporting disciplinary & grievances,
- Review and look for opportunities to upskill managers to be able to manage cases more independently.
Attraction, Retention and succession
- Work with managers to identify ways to continue to retain key staff and ensure they remain engaged and motivated
- Support both UK and International career development moves
- Support attraction and recruitment campaigns
Culture, Engagement, Communication
- Work with leaders to enable highly engaged teams, developing and delivering interventions at department or business level and acting as a coach to leaders.
Facilitate the continued development of a strong culture based around our values (One Team, Customer First, Test & Learn, Choose to Care).
Underpin and advocate for our work on Difference Matters and Minds Matter, playing a role in deveoping interventions and enabling it to be people’s lived experience at JCDecaux
- Work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure people communications are aligned with our brand, values and deliver impact on staff engagement.

Likely to be a full CIPD member qualification or equivalent, in relevant disciplines.
- Is or has already been practising as a Business Partner
- Depth and breadth of experience in managing organisational change, with strong legal knowledge and experience
- Demonstrable capabilities delivering proactive talent management initiatives across the employee life cycle: recruitment, on-boarding, performance, development, succession, exit
- Experienced in shifting People Team from being reactive to proactive and putting new approaches, processes and systems in place
- Experience of delivering manager training sessions and team development activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and inter-personal skills; able to influence, be assertive and flex style and approach dependent on the stakeholder
- Resilient, confident and assertive with ability to build strong and productive relationships; building trust through capability, credibility and confidence
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to make sound judgements balancing legal, reputational, commercial and cultural factors
- Fully competent in using HRIS (Workday would be an added bonus), Microsoft and other relevant systems. Data literate with confident excel and powerpoint skills.
