ST LUKE’S HOSPICE IS A LOCAL CHARITY PROVIDING COMPASSIONATE CARE TO PEOPLE WHOSE ILLNESSES ARE NO LONGER CURABLE. WE PROMOTE DIGNITY IN DYING AND EMPOWER PEOPLE TO MAKE THE CHOICES THEY WANT, FROM THE MOMENT THEY ARE DIAGNOSED.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced People Business Partner to join us and lead our small People team based in our Thurrock Hospice. This is a highly visible role that proactively works at all levels of the organisation, to drive our new People Strategy forward, including innovative employee engagement, learning and development strategies.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Member of the CIPD or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
- Good knowledge of employment law, HR policies and procedures and best practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven track record in managing varied, complex employee relations (ER) issues and capable of managing several issues at once.
- Experience in learning and development and employee engagement and communications.
- Capability to analyse data and generate insights to create positive outcomes.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will will effectively support a professional service across a range of people management and development activities to designated departments, with a focus on managing employee relations cases and supporting all employee engagement, EDI and learning and development processes across the organisation.
Salary: £29,612 to £38,412 per year (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm
Location: Thurrock Hospice site (with flexibility to work remotely in line with Hospice policy)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide an absolutely understanding of all people metrics; by providing data and reports to deliver key insights and prompt appropriate action for managers to take forward.
- Designing and delivering employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Act as the people management and development expert for your designated departments, collaborating and sharing information with the wider People team on issues that may impact them
- Work with the Director of People and Development to continue to embed and develop a learning culture which reflects the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning and engagement programmes through feedback and performance metrics.
- Actively contribute to the development of competence of line managers to develop their skills in leading, managing and developing their teams.
- Maintaining accurate records of training activities and outcomes.
