ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for someone to join our friendly, close knit team in a fixed term full time role for up to 8 months as a parental leave cover from September 2024 onwards. Depending on the landscape of the team in 2025, there may be also an opportunity to extend the contract.
We are looking for a strong team player to join our People & Culture team. At Pickles, the People & Culture Business Partners engage and truly partner with their client groups, providing advice and coaching on every stage of the employment lifecycle. You will develop a deep understanding of the business, balancing the people and commercial landscapes to focus on business outcomes and results.
In this role, you will be one part of a team of eight, reporting to our National People & Culture Manager and partnering with some of our branches as well as some head office client groups. This role would suit someone who is currently at a strong advisor level or developing into a business partner, with strong recruitment and advisory skills.
We are mostly working from home at the moment, however, we have offices in the city, Belmore or Milperra from which we sometimes work from, and one of those offices is where your training and onboarding would take place.
We’re a collaborative, down to earth team, looking for someone who enjoys the hands-on operational side of human resources sprinkled with projects and process improvements to join us.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing coaching and advice to your client group on people matters such as performance and conduct management, grievances and other day-to-day matters
- Providing end to end recruitment support to your client group from role brief to onboarding stages, with support from our P&C Coordinators
- Supporting your client group through annual processes such as remuneration review, performance reviews, engagement survey and talent review
- Providing advice on and interpretation of Awards and remuneration
- Working closely with the People & Culture Coordinators on administration of the employee lifecycle and milestones in your client group, with a specific focus on their development
- Creating and maintaining relationships with leaders through regular, open conversations that support business outcomes
- Building leadership capability and self-sufficiency in your client group through coaching
- Managing and mitigating risk of external litigation and reputational damage by working closely with key business stakeholders to ensure the business is compliant with legislation in areas pertaining to employees, such as ER, discrimination, EEO, bullying and harassment and preparing responses to applications to the Fair Work Commission for your client group
- Working in partnership with leaders you support to strengthen the culture of Pickles through the delivery of People & Culture initiatives and role modelling the behaviours that underpin our culture
There will also be opportunities to work closely with the team on People & Culture projects, processes, systems and initiatives in line with your development interests.
