About the Role:
The People Operations Manager leads and manages all People Ops and Human Resources related duties for the company, including on and off boarding, HRIS support, payroll duties, employee engagement, benefits management and administration, assisting the CFO with People Ops related finance tasks such as stock option management and payroll budget reporting, supporting company strategy development, managing equipment and supplies for staff, and other duties as assigned.
This role reports to the VP of Operations. This role has no direct reports. The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $115,000. This role is a hybrid role and requires 3 days of in-person presence in the Headquarters office in Grass Valley, CA.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in the HR or People Ops field

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Insurance documentation and payments including tracking renewal dates, submitting renewal materials to insurance provider, managing enrollment, periodic audits of provider services, managing employee related insurance processes and claims (Workers Comp, Auto Insurance).
  • Manage payroll, payroll taxes, including multi-region tax registration and compliance, processing reimbursements and other payments to employees, ensuring data is current, compliance with State and Federal payroll and wage laws,
  • HRIS management (Bamboo) including audits of systems, troubleshooting issues with provider, entry of employee data and management of employee accounts, quarterly and annual compliance audits, onboarding and offboarding of new employees, employee training on platform, create and maintain SOP.
  • Manage HRA, 401k and all employee benefits (medical, dental, vision) including onboarding and offboarding of employees, compliance monitoring, system audits, troubleshooting for employees, training.
  • Manage Cobra Administrator and compliance with California and federal laws.
  • Manage employee stock options through LTSE including on and off boarding, quarterly document submissions.
  • Conduct Employee Satisfaction Survey annually, aggregate data and present to leadership team, analyze results for action items, develop action plans for improvements and implement those plans.
  • Conduct Pay equity analyses annually, recommend salary banding adjustments in line with annual analysis and cost of living adjustments.
  • Support cybersecurity policy and third-party security review including development and maintenance of staff IT policies, work with project teams to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in L10 and leadership strategy retreats and assist with implementation of any People Ops initiatives, support management.
  • Support company policy creation and adherence/compliance including ongoing review and maintenance of Employee Manual and various policy documents, maintain knowledge of current laws, trends, and best practices in the employee policy space, assist staff with policy compliance, training of staff on compliance issues.
  • Manage hiring and onboarding/offboarding process including background checks for new staff, proper paperwork completion, federal and state compliance, assistance with relocation when needed, coordination of travel for remote employees, assist hiring manager with “First 90 Day” planning, scheduling of initial new employee meetings, conducting exit interviews, closing out exiting employee files, processing final payrolls off cycle when needed.
  • Responsible for employee’s technology requirements and office access including procuring laptops and other tech for new staff as well as initial supplies needed for new employees
  • Recruiting duties including assisting with development of job descriptions and job postings, ensuring compliance with job postings, researching and sourcing of diverse talent pools, management of job postings and advertisements, properly managing unsolicited applications, coordination of hiring teams, scheduling of interviews & screenings, coordination of Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensure positive candidate experience.
  • Manage equity and inclusion efforts, ensure office space and company resources are accessible for all.
  • Manage legal compliance for all operations including safety standards and required training for personnel
  • Assist in management of physical office space including desk re-organization, seating chart.
  • Create and maintain org chart.
  • Employee engagement including employee surveys, regular status checks with staff, implementation of engagement initiatives, employee event planning and management, proposals to L10 team for enhancement of engagement, maintain knowledge of trends and best practices in the field of employee engagement, develop and maintain system for employee recognition and rewards.
