Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY

The People Operations Representative role provides support to the organization related to hourly recruiting, onboarding new hires, processing unemployment claims, scheduling performance management training, acting as a partner with employees and Leadership, reporting HR metrics, as well as assisting with all other related HR projects and initiatives. This position is responsible for product safety, quality and legality.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in human resources, business or other related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation preferred.
  • Three (3) years professional experience as a generalist including experience with recruitment/employment practices, employee relations, eeo/aap administration, management development and leave of absence administration required.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR-related best practices, government regulations and industry standards.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications and Human Resources Information Systems strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service skills. Strong team player..

Responsibilities:

  • Provides consulting to management on employee relations issues and HR policies and procedures.
  • Recruits or assists management in the recruitment process for exempt and non-exempt candidates; conducts new hire orientations, maintains the career opportunity program, and the appropriate employment records; ensures that job postings and all transfer and promotion activity is in compliance with established company policy and equal employment guidelines.
  • Enhance, conduct, and/or assist with the administration of the company’s internal training programs to align with long term Human Resources goals and objectives.
  • Provides guidance to management when writing job descriptions; manages the performance appraisal and salary review processes to ensure fair and equitable appraisals and compensation levels for employees; ensures compensation and benefits programs are administered in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Investigates internal and external employment equity complaints, and employee relations issues within and outside assigned region up to manager level; conducts exit interviews and provides trends and analyses reports to management.
  • Develops action plans to comply with the annual affirmative action plan and related reports; helps ensure the delivery of corporate employment equity programs in an assigned area; completes all regulatory reports.
  • Facilitates training and leadership programs and evaluates the effectiveness of the programs; ensures that all legally required training is conducted.
  • Educates management on proper timesheet and payroll procedures; resolves discrepancies as needed.
  • Assists management in the administration of personnel paperwork (e.g. Promotions, new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits).
  • Prepares statistical reports of trends & data necessary for management information.
  • Reports the status of personnel programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Administers employee surveys, communicates results to management, and assists management in the resolution of identified problem areas.Performs other duties as assigned.
