Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a People Operations Specialist to join our growing and evolving company! We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented, and deadline-focused individual to support HR processes, including payroll, benefits, tax compliance, and leave policy management in alignment with our company goals and objectives. You will report to the Director of People Operations and play a critical role in ensuring our employees feel supported at every stage of their employment journey. This position is a perfect fit for someone who brings an aptitude and desire for problem solving, quickly learning new systems, and finding opportunities to improve processes across a range of People systems and programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage weekly payroll processing, including submission, resolving payment issues, auditing of recurring deductions and off-cycle payments, taxes, and reimbursements
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and leave of absences
- Provide timely response to all employee inquiries on a wide variety of topics, including payroll and benefits
- Ensure all HR processes are aligned with local, state, and federal employment laws, ensuring each jurisdiction’s compliance standards are met
- Support the recruitment efforts of individual contributor level roles, including sourcing and screening qualified candidates
- Assist Leadership Team with the collection and preparation of confidential and important financial reports, such as audits
- Assist with special projects that improve the overall quality of our employee experience and data management operations
- Support the CEO with calendar management and administrative tasks, such as scheduling of quarterly board meetings and investor calls

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in human resources
- Minimum 1 year of experience processing / supporting payroll
- Proficiency in payroll and HRIS software
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits laws and regulations
- Passionate about supporting a diverse workforce through compassionate communication
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to an evolving work environmen
