Description:
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US?
We’re on a mission. Where others see limits, we see opportunity, and we work at pace. Working at Vertical isn’t your average role but for those seeking a challenge, a flexible, supportive organisation and an incredible team; working here is an opportunity to do the best work of your career.
Our approach promotes ingenuity and courage, while our environment builds success through diligence in safety and being open in the way we work. The only way we’re going to assure the next chapter of aviation history is by working as a team, relentlessly, towards our goal.
Responsibilities:
As an Advanced Performance Engineer you will touch and influence many aspects of the vehicle design, characterising and bringing together all elements which aggregate to create a vehicle with excellent performance.
Working with other team members, you will identify critical aircraft performance parameters and missions and from them derive aircraft and system design requirements. You will also develop representative aircraft performance models for use in vehicle sizing, market studies, system trade-offs, failure analyses and development of certified performance data - we are in a new and novel market sector and you will have to use your ingenuity to set the new standards and methods to follow as “traditional” ones may no longer apply. Also, as part of your role you will develop test plans for component, rig and flight testing which will provide the data we need to develop and certify our aircraft and you’ll develop and use data analysis tools which will allow us to reduce and expand performance data efficiently
You will report to the IPT Lead – Architecture, Performance and Mass and be a key member of the Architecture, Performance and Mass team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.
